West Bengal Assembly Election Result 2026 Live Updates: The results for West Bengal Assembly election will be declared on Monday. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce results for 293 out of 294 constituencies, as 285 booths of the Falta Assembly seat will undergo re-polling on May 21, with counting on May 24.
Trends for West Bengal results have started coming in with the battle now going in favour of BJP. The saffron party is currently leading on 155 seats while TMC is ahead in 126 seats. West Bengal went to polls in two phases on April 23 and 29. After voting, the state witnessed intense political activity on ground with party workers sitting outside strongrooms and reports of EVM tampering from certain booths.
As per the pollsters, a neck-and-neck contest is expected between the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As per the poll of polls, no party in Bengal is expected to cross the magic number of 148 of the total 294 constituencies comfortably. Axis My India, a prominent agency, refused to release its exit poll, citing the silence of the voters. A hung assembly is declared if none of the parties or alliances cross the majority mark.
